Our Story

Hi, I’m Sabrina Lin—Founder of The Writing Lab Co., a high-performance academic coaching space based in Canada.

My approach to education is shaped by firsthand experience across multiple systems: traditional Taiwanese schooling, Waldorf education, and the Canadian school system; followed by a BSc in Applied Animal Biology from the University of British Columbia. This range gave me an early understanding that how students learn is not fixed—it’s designed.

With over seven years of teaching experience, I integrate writing instruction, psychology, and long-term academic strategy into a structured coaching model. My work is heavily influenced by global education systems—particularly Finnish and German models—combined with the periodization and training principles used in elite sport.

Outside of coaching, I train and compete internationally in karate. That perspective carries directly into my work: students are not just taught—they are trained to think, adapt, and perform independently.

My goal is simple: to build systems that help students develop clarity, direction, and self-leadership.
